ORION v5.0.1 · Research Release

You’re either in the answer, or you don’t exist.

LLMs cite 3–7 sources per answer. The distance between where your page could be cited and where it is cited today is your Citability Gap. That is the measurement that now decides whether you exist on the answer surface.

Citability Intelligence

Rank tracking is measuring the wrong surface.

The LLM Answer Surface doesn’t show pages. It shows chunks. ORION v5 scores the smallest citable unit your content ships , across four measurable modules, with an Honesty Gate that tells you when the number is validated.

Chunk-level, not page-level

LLMs don’t cite pages. They cite the two-to-four-sentence passage that best answers the query. ORION scores every chunk individually so you know exactly which passage carries your citation weight.

Four measurable modules

C1 Chunk Citability · C2 Citation Hygiene · Q Query-Fit Breadth · T Trust & Authorship. Each subscore is reproducible, explainable, and tied to a specific action you can take today.

Research Release

We tell you when we’re sure

Every score carries its empirical state , enforced in code by isResearchRelease. Until our predictive calibration clears four validation gates (≥300 labels, Brier ≤ 0.04, CUSUM stable, Spearman ρ ≥ 0.55), we’ll say so. Plainly. Above the score.

What the Index reveals

The new unit of measurement is the citation, not the click.

ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews are now the first interface a customer sees for most informational queries. That interface doesn’t reward rank , it rewards citability. If your chunk is one of the 3–7 sources the model pulls, you exist. If it isn’t, you don’t.

The Citability Index aggregates ORION scores across every scan run through this tool. As the dataset grows, so does the picture of how a page should be built to survive the citation filter , by industry, by page type, by chunk.

The data is open. We believe citability measurement should be a shared standard, not a proprietary black box. Every score you run contributes a data point, carries its empirical state (Research Release until the Honesty Gate clears), and is licensed under CC BY 4.0.
